Hello and thank you for taking a minute to learn about myself and what I can offer you. I’m Derek Flory.
I pride myself in helping people like you fulfill your homeownership dreams, either purchasing or selling. I’m very experienced in reno-to-flip, and first time home buyers. I have experience across all aspects of real estate, including managing investment properties. I thoroughly enjoy the industry as a whole.
I entered the real estate field many years ago while I was buying and selling my own personal rental property. I received my real estate license in 2010, and fell in love, so to speak, with real estate.
I was raised right here in the a Shenandoah Valley, and I summered in Hightown, VA. In 1992, I graduated from Fort Defiance High School. I graduated from Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, WV with a B.A. in Recreation and Tourism management in 1999.
Due to my background in recreation, travels and extensive knowledge of the Shenandoah Valley, in addition to Highland and Bath counties, I feel confident I’ll be able to satisfy and exceed your expectations. We at Kline May offer the most advanced technology to purchase or list your home. These tools include but are not limited to: TV listings, professional home staging, professional photography, customized brochures, modern search engines, efficient electronic communications, outstanding support staff and best of all, all of these services are at no cost to you.
When I’m not selling real estate, I’m spending time with my family. Together, my wife, Jenny, and I have three children and two grandkids. We currently live in the Staunton area and love camping at Shenandoah Acres Campground.
Bring me your hopes and dreams and together we will work through every step to make it happen. I hope you find that I’m Determined, Accessible, and Dependable. I look forward to working with you.
Thanks again, Derek
In my past life, I was a police/fire dispatcher and a trained hostage negotiator. Nothing could prepare me better for a career in real estate! I’m ready to negotiate for you, whether it’s selling your home or getting you the best deal on your dream home. I love to study the market and current trends to keep ahead of the curve to provide the best service possible for my clients.
The various work I have done over the years – from HR management, retail, mentoring at-risk youth, and dispatch – have all involved helping others. It is truly a passion of mine, and I am looking forward to combining my professional experience with my love of all things real estate.
I was born and raised on the beautiful coast of Maine, halfway between Stephen King’s home and Acadia National Park. When my other half, Chuck, and I could no longer stand the long, snowy winters, we decided to move to a warmer climate. Our travels brought us to Virginia, and we fell in love with the Shenandoah Valley and the diversity here. I truly understand the challenges of relocating from one home to another, and I want to make it easier for each and every client. Whether you are moving from another state or simply across town, I am dedicated to making the process as simple and seamless as possible.
When I’m not working or trying to convince my son, Kyle, and his family to join us in Virginia, I love to read, write, travel, bake decadent things I shouldn’t eat, learn new things, and spend time with Chuck and my oldest child, Breanna.
Bobby was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia and proudly identifies himself as one of the original “Belmont boys”. He worked in retail management for over 25 years and transitioned to real estate in 2004, where he found his niche. He loves telling interesting stories, has never met a stranger, and you will feel like he is your best friend right from the get-go. He loves people and enjoys helping them find homes they love and selling homes in the smoothest way possible. Bobby works hard for his clients and is a great communicator.
In his spare time, Bobby enjoys listening and making music. He has been in bands in school and outside of school since 3rd grade. He also enjoys watching sports—any kind really—but is most fond of college football and basketball. Bobby also enjoys spending time with family. He has been married to his wife Tamela for over 28 years, has two grown daughters, Cassie and Trinity, and a new addition to the family, a granddaughter, Scarlett.
Serving the Shenandoah Valley, Greater Charlottesville area and surrounding counties since 2004.
Tamela likes to say that she has lived in all points in Virginia–north, south, east, and west. She has lived most of her adult life in Charlottesville but grew up a good portion of her childhood in the Shenandoah Valley. So, it is natural that she serves both areas. Prior to becoming a Realtor®, Tamela worked in the healthcare field for 15 years and 12 years in higher education where she served as a university executive and adjunct professor. She has a Master of Science in Education and specialized in instructional design. Her background is a good indicator of her approach to real estate. Tamela is an educator at heart and believes the small details are as equally important as the big picture, but she has a good knack for knowing which approach her clients prefer best. She also knows what exceptional service looks like and how to execute it as she managed a division with 350 employees that supported over 100,000 students…with a 97.3% student satisfaction rating. She knows how to generate great experiences and makes her clients feel at ease in the process. She is easy to talk to and is a good listener.
When Tamela is not doing real estate, she enjoys finding new and interesting places to socialize and go walking with her friends. She also loves to read and enjoys good music and theatre. Tamela believes in investing in her community and volunteers at the local domestic violence/sexual assault support center as well as at a dog rescue organization. She has been married to Bobby for over 28 years and they have a daughter, Trinity, who is grown and has her own family (including the most amazing granddaughter ever—Scarlett). Tamela and her husband, Bobby, have 4 dogs who totally run their lives, but they are so sweet and cuddly that somehow it all works out.
