Sally Newkirk

My name is Sally Newkirk, and I’m a native Floridian. I relocated to the Valley in 1993, and 9 years later I became a realtor. Real estate was a natural career transition after 13 years as a paralegal.

Though I miss easy access to water sports and being close to the ocean, in general, I’m glad we relocated to the Harrisonburg area. My daughter, Ayla, got a good education in Rockingham County schools, and this area is a wholesome, safe place to raise a family.

I am a firm believer that comfort, security, and relaxation make a house a home. A home should be the kind of place where you throw away the day and renew yourself, and I will listen to your needs and help you find that place. A buyer’s attorney once said, “Sally is the agent that kept us moving and hopping to get this thing done,” and I pride myself on my work ethic and knowledge of this industry.

I like to sell and help people buy healthy, energy-efficient, and comfortable homes. Did you know that most of the carbon in the atmosphere comes from heating and cooling your house? Energy-efficient means having the same service with less energy, and I will help you find that in your new home or achieve that in the home you have now.

One of my former clients said, “I call Sally when I need a business reference for work I might need done – she is a Rolodex of reputable contractors, pest control, insulation people – you name it. And she’s GREEN.”

I also love to write. Check out my new blog, Sally’s Healthy Homes. Green is a word that is thrown around a lot anymore, but I attempt to embody environmentally-friendly living personally and at work. In my free time, I love to go camping in West Virginia. I love the white water over there. West Virginia is a beautiful place and so is Virginia.
