The Valley Roots Team is happy to help buyers and sellers in the Shenandoah Valley. If you have a question about anything Valley, call us, e-mail us, Facebook message us, text us, tag us, or if none of that works send a carrier pigeon. We’re here when you need us and make an effort to return contact in a timely fashion, even on weekends.
Visit our community website http://valleyrootsteam.com and read our blog. Trust us, it’s not your typical real estate website.
My name is Jeremy Litwiller, and ever since my first trip to the Valley in the early 90’s, I knew this area would some day be the place I called home. After spending four years here for college and meeting my now wife of 18 years, we moved around from Ohio, to Georgia, to Pennsylvania after graduation but with a plan of eventually returning to the Harrisonburg area to raise our family. That plan became reality in 2008 when we moved to Rockingham County with our daughter Sydney who now attends Eastern Mennonite School. My wife, Jennifer, works as the Associate Director of Career and Academic Planning at James Madison University, and I am proud to be a part of the Kline May Team.
Having grown up on an agricultural farm in northern Michigan baling hay, harvesting crops, and clearing fields, my passion has always been the outdoors. I have focused a portion of my business on working with farm-and-land buyers and sellers through my website. This area of real estate is my passion and has been in my blood since I was a young farm-boy in the upper mid-west.
However, in an effort to be more than just the average real estate agent, I intentionally spent many years in the construction industry to be proficient in the residential market too. I’ve done almost every trade involved in building or remodeling a house: I was a framing contractor for several years, I’ve been a plumber, worked in a drywall plant and taught proper installation and finishing techniques, dabbled in electrical, installed fireplaces, siding, and also roofing. So from the foundation and framing to the mechanicals and finishes, I can help you understand what went into the construction of the place you call home. While my main focus is on Rockingham and Augusta Counties, I have also listed and sold property in Page County, Shenandoah County, Highland County, and Rockbridge County.
If you don’t see what you need on this site, don’t ever hesitate to call or shoot me an email. I generally try to answer phone calls and emails seven days a week, so you won’t have to wait long for a response.
My name is Jay Michael Harnish; however, most people call me Michael. I grew up in Lancaster, PA but moved here permanently after attending college in the ‘burg. I fell in love with a girl that I met in college; we married, bought our first house, and we had our first child in June 2014.
The Valley has so much to offer a young family: great schools, a vibrant community life, safe neighborhoods, and a city council who genuinely wants the best for the people of their city. Beyond the efforts to resurrect downtown, city council has made many efforts to provide safe biking routes as well as a variety of activity facilities to keep Harrisonburg healthy! And when you can’t find what you are looking for in Harrisonburg, major cities like Charlottesville and D.C. are within reach.
I became a REALTOR to guide others through the process of choosing a house to make into a home because it is a life-altering decision that most only get to make a few times in life. I love houses – the architecture, the construction, the unique characteristics of each home, but more importantly, I love making a house into a home – the decor, the smells, the memories.
I have too many hobbies for too little spare time! Harrisonburg has helped grow many of my hobbies including hiking, biking and frolfing (frisbee golfing). Also, I enjoy playing guitar, making wood projects, renovating my home, and gardening.
I am positive that I, supported by the Valley Roots Team, can help you find your next house or sell the one you’re currently in.
My name is Brent Loope and I’ve been a resident here in the Valley since graduating from Bridgewater College in 2007. Originally from Botetourt County, I met my wife Kendra at Bridgewater and we’ve been together here in Valley ever since. It is an area that we’ve enjoyed ever since our college days and we’re now fortunate enough to plant our own roots here with our son Isaac (and two dogs Callie and Lucy).
Prior to real estate, I spent six years teaching middle school social studies at Kate Collins Middle School in Waynesboro, Virginia. After college and up until the birth of our son Isaac (around 11 years), I also coached soccer at a multitude of levels including youth travel, high school, and college.
Education and helping others are two key passions that I take with me from those experiences into the world of real estate. I spent the first five years of my real estate career at Rocktown Realty before joining The Valley Roots Team at Kline May Realty. Educating clients on the multitude of real estate processes and helping those clients achieve their goals is what drives me and the Valley Roots Team on a daily basis.
Whether or you’re buying, selling, renovating, relocating, or just curious about the market, my goal is to bring you reliable and consistent value and service so that I can be your Realtor for life. Our goal at the Valley Roots Team is to be your one stop shop for all things Valley-Related so if we can ever be of service, don’t hesitate to ask!
Hello, I’m Amelia Schmid. I am thrilled to be part of the Valley Roots Team, one of Kline May’s top-producing teams, as a REALTOR®. Before making my home in the valley 11 years ago by way of Eastern Mennonite University, I called Ohio home. I spent 8 years as a wedding and portrait photographer before joining real estate.
I have always had the ability to see things differently. I have a habit of walking into any place and seeing exactly what COULD be. Realty is where imagination meets real life and that’s what drew me to it.
Life happens in space. Space is important. Anyone that says differently has never walked into a well-designed room. It’s not just how it looks — it’s how it makes you feel. I don’t want to sell you a house, I want to sell you a home. I don’t want to sell you rooms, I want to sell you feelings. As I’ve come to learn, a house has a number, a home has a name. And that is why I love what I do. It’s got everything to do with living and living happens at home.
